Social Networking Person

This is going to be a rather short post because it's only a post because it's too long to fit on twitter.

You know how everyone things social networking is bad because people can be 'fake'? Well, social networking has also created a new (fake) grammatical person. I dub it "Facebook person" and it is when you start a sentence in third person and end it in first person. The use of the Facebook person helps deal with the awkward challenge of always making your status update a proper sentence starting with your name.

For example, my recent status update:

"Lauren Surname has 15 hours before my first flight out of the state."

as opposed to third person:

"Lauren has 15 hours before her first flight out of the state."

or first:

"I have 15 hours beforemy first flight out of the state."

Okay, so that post wasn't so short. But it amused me.

Haha nice. John is guilty of doing this all the time in my twitter account.

John has discovered talking in Facebook person is not as easy as I first thought.
